Ryde is one of Vision Group's product designers. His main responsibilities are all the wading gear, reels, accessories, and certain fly rods/fly rod sets. He also dabbles with the logistics and finance side of the business. You can pretty much ask him about anything, and he can help you out... Ryde started working at Vision in 2002. Before that, he was a regular helping hand at fly shows and demos.

Apart from his impressive career at Vision, Ryde was a fishing guide for eight seasons on the fabled Kola Peninsula salmon rivers of Drozdovka, Lumbovka, Varzina, Penka, Sidorovka, and Ponoi.

What is your thing in fly fishing, or do you fly fish at all? " In my guiding years I did so much trout and salmon fishing I kind of got bored of them. So nowadays I mostly fish for pike and sea trout. I still do the odd salmon trip to Scotland, though."

What are your top 3 flies?  "You only need one fly, and that's the chartreuse/white Clouser Minnow."

All-time favorite Vision products?  "The Ace shooting heads were spectacular. Especially the sinking versions. The XLA reels are also eternal. From the newer products I really love the Toka rod series and Scout waders."
