Niklas Zellin was born in Sundsvall, Sweden. Because of the legendary salmon river Orkla and the incredible nature Norway has to offer, Niklas and his father moved to Orkanger, Norway, when he was 12 years old.

Niklas started fly fishing at the age of 10 when his father bought him his first fly rod. Back then he was fly fishing for rising trout, as well as spin fishing for pike. Later on, Niklas was introduced to fly fishing for Atlantic salmon for the first time. From that moment on, he was hooked.

What aspects of fly fishing are closest to your heart? "My biggest passion is salmon fishing. To be more specific, early-season salmon fishing. I love a big challenge and enjoy catching fish in very tough conditions."

Vision gear that you can't live without? "First-gen XO 14'4" and the 13'6" Sledgehammer. I'm also a big fan of the Rivermaniac 10'6 #8 Medium."

What are your top 3 flies? "The Phatakorva, Banan, and any variation of the Ally's Shrimp."

What is your wildest fishing memory? "It has to be a salmon session I had in Northern Norway. Me and my partners in crime landed more than 30 salmon in one day. Days like those are very hard to come by.
