Martin comes from the Czech Republic and has been fly fishing since the age of 10. Fly fishing is a way of life for Martin, and he has spent his life traveling around the world with a fly rod in hand. 

Martin likes all kinds of fly fishing but is particularly keen on dry fly fishing and tropical flats fishing. Martin likes to practice fly casting and try out new gear. He is always preparing for that next trip.

What are your biggest passions in fly fishing? " Sight fishing is my biggest passion. No matter the species. I just love anything visual. It can be a tiny dry fly that I cast at a trout or a huge flatwing to a GT; as long as I get to see the take, that's all that matters. "

Vision gear that you can't live without? "Merisuola and XO fly rods. I also loved the old XLA reels. "

What are your top 3 flies?  "Hare's nymph with a tungsten bead, Clouser minnow, and a Spawning shrimp."

What is your wildest fishing memory? "Too many memories to just choose one... Getting our rental car destroyed by a bear when steelhead fishing in Canada is definitely one. Hooking up to my first saltwater species was something very special too. Getting spooled by a kingfish or losing a milkfish after a looong fight. These are the memories that keep us coming back for more, right? "
