"Mare" Sandell is an ex-professional alpine skier and a fly fishing enthusiast. He went straight to the deep end and started fly fishing for pike when he was still in high school. 

When Marcus was still competing, he used to carry fly gear around so he could fish on his off days. He is still a bit salty that the rivers were all flooded during the Vancouver Olympics.

What are your biggest passions in fly fishing? " Pike and sea trout fishing are my two biggest passions. I love to be out on the Baltic casting my flies and spending time with my friends from the Pike Slayers fishing club."

Vision gear that you can't live without? " Merisuola rods #9 and #7. XO reels for sure too."

What are your top 3 flies?  "3x Red & White Bucktail Deceiver."

What is your wildest fishing memory? "All the bigger pike that I caught back when I was a teenager are very memorable. I did much of my fishing wading around our summer cottage, so that made them super special. "
