JUHANA KIISKI

Juhana is a professional musician and audioman. He started fly fishing and fly tying as a teenager. He made his first trips to Lapland and Northern Norway with his dad, and that sparked an eternal flame for the sport.

Juhana loves to fish for brown trout and pike. Pike has become more and more prevalent in his fly fishing "portfolio" not only because of the fishing but also because of his love to tie bucktail-based pike flies. Juhana is a superb pike fly tyer.

Juhana is the co-founder of the popular Finnish podcast Unelmia Onkimassa, which he does together with his lifelong friend, Esko Asikainen.

What are your biggest passions in fly fishing? " I would have to say brown trout and pike fishing. Especially pike fishing has become very much my thing over the past few years. "

Vision gear that you can't live without? " Pikemaniac #10 rod, Nymphmaniac #4 rod, and the Bamboo Bugstop hoodie"

What are your top 3 flies?  "Orange&White bulkhead deceiver, the Shart nymph, and a big gold or silver flash fly"

What is your wildest fishing memory? "It would have to be the fight I had with the biggest brown trout I have ever seen. The fight was long, and the evening was getting darker and darker. I eventually started putting a lot of pressure on the fish, which ended up with a broken rod and a lost fish..."
