HANNA HUHTALA

Hanna Huhtala started fishing as an adult. Fly fishing seemed like an interesting thing to learn, and salmonids were fascinating. She completely fell in love with the sport from the very first try, and from the beginning she's had the chance to fish alongside and learn from more skilled anglers.

Hanna lives in the southwest part of Finland in the sweet embrace of our beautiful archipelago and its spectacular pike waters. Naturally, pike fishing is the most important form of fly fishing she does. She also loves to catch all the unusual species that can be targeted with a fly rod - carp and cod, just to name a few.

What are your biggest passions in fly fishing? " I love to fish the remote places in Lapland that can't be reached by car. I enjoy hiking far away and spending long times fishing and camping in the wilderness. My main targets are arctic char and brown trout."

Vision gear that you can't live without? " As I do a lot of belly boat fishing, I have to say the Keeper ISO Float Tube. I also can't live without my Subzero socks."

What are your top 3 flies? "The "Paskasärki" pike fly, orange shrimp pattern, and a CDC dry fly "

What is your wildest fishing memory? "Big 10+ kilo pike don't come by commonly, so catching two in one day was something very special."
