When not competing Jarkko enjoys fishing especially for grayling either in Finland or Central Europe. On his trips he also likes to spend some time behind the camera. Currently, Jarkko is working in close co-operation with Vision HQ to design a premium rod series for modern nymphing.

Although river fishing for grayling and atlantic salmon is Antti’s first love he enjoys just about all forms of fly fishing. Normal year for Antti consists of pike and seatrout from the Bay of Finland in the spring, mayfly time for brown trout in Estonia, salmon, grayling and seatrout in Teno and Finnmark in the summer and back to the Baltic in the fall. Also the crystal clear waters of Austria are in the menu both during spring and fall. Hunting the flats in the tropics have become an absolute obsession for Antti and he tries to spend at least couple of weeks doing it every year.
Antti has been teaching fly casting since 2005. In 2008 he passed all three examinations of casting instructors from F.F.F. (Federation of Fly Fishers) in a single event in Treviso Italy. He holds both MCI (Master Casting Instructor) and THCI (Two Handed Casting Instructor) certifications.
I have been fly fishing for over 15 years and since 2006 I run my own guiding company, named GRAYLING LAND. During my fishing career I have visited many wonderful grayling, trout and char rivers, but compared to any other river the Magic River is unique. In the northernmost reaches of Finland, there's a Magic river where the grayling grow really big. Every year dozens of grayling over 1 kg (over 2.2 lbs), the largest ones exceeding even over 2 kg (over 4.4 lbs) in weight, are caught there on dry.
“I really enjoy teaching people new techniques and seeing them catch fish is really exciting to me. When guiding I still consider myself fishing, but I have to do it through my clients, choosing the right fly, using the right approach and technique. When they get into fish, I feel like I had a big part in it and it is really rewarding.” Mention dry fly fishing for grayling and Aki might just go crazy.
Sepp is nowadays an international instructor and flytier. He gives flycasting demo’s and lessons at a lot fly fishing events such as Fly Fair, Danish Fly Festival, FFF Conclave and several other international and national shows and fly fishing events.
He’s member of the Dutch Association of Advanced Fly Tiers (D.A.A.F.T.), EFFA Master Fly Casting Instructor, board member of the Fly Casting Department EFFA, board member of the Dutch department of the EFFA and board member of his home Fly-fishing club “Vliegvisvereniging Voorne-Putten”.
Sepp is a very innovative instructor (inventor of the SF-roll cast –a method for training rollcast on the lawn) former Dutch fly casting champion, he has his own fly casting video and is the inventor of the famous welded flyline loops with the use of shrinktubes.
In summer, the main target - Grayling. In spring and autumn - salmon, sea trout, trout, both one-and two-handed rods, depending on conditions. I am two times Lithuanian champion in flyfishing(2008, 2010). I won Vision CUP in 2007 (the first Lithuanian C&R competition). In the year 2011 I passed the FFF casting instructor exam - being the first one in Lithuania. I teach people casting, fly tying and flyfishing subtleties. I write articles for local magazines and my homepage. While living in Kaunas, Lithuania in the center itself, I have perfect conditions to achieve the most beautiful rivers in the region, so I spend quite a lot of time fishing. I am sure that it is the living practices into theories of the body. And of course all the new ideas are born by the river.Since last year, flyfishing is also my livelihood. I sell fishing tackle and run courses. I do not like standing water, and cold winters, when the river freezes over and there is no where to fish. But whenever there is an opening of the first shoot in the creek in spring, you can find me there…We have wild nature and everyone may choose to stay in tents for free near the river or country tourism for a very friendly price. We have natural born fish hear, so it is more pleasure to find and catch them.So If you wish to come to the wild nature in a centre of Europe contact me.
My favorite venues are in the middle parts of Finland and in England, where I've fished with many good friends both in lakes and beautiful rivers.
In this picture I was fishing a river 140 km north form my city, Helsinki.
I had just broken my ankle from three places and I was wearing a plaster cast. There was no way I could have fit a boot on top of my wader sock, so I had to take my crutches with me. At 02.10 am, I managed to hook this fish and eventually C&R it. That is something I can'trecommend for anyone to try....
Currently I am living in Sydney, Australia and really looking forward to see what Australia has to offer. Surfing is great, that I already know, but what about fly fishing? I have been told that saltwater fly fishing near Sydney can be fantastic. We'll see...
Since getting his first fly fishing gear his main target has primarily been brown trout - preferrably huge specimens. However, the occasional salmon, grayling and pike fishing trip is always welcome. His newest interest is tropical saltwater fly fishing for bonefish and tarpon, and he states scoring a grand slam a project he intends to fulfill within the next 2 years (IT HAPPENED IN MARCH 2011. Place was Jardines de la Reina, Cuba. Congrats Jasper! ).
In addition to being a keen fly fisherman Jasper works as a full time actor in the Finnish film industry. He has starred in two of the most successful Finnish films of all time, the latest main role being the one of Matti Nykänen, the legendary ski jumper and Finnish national icon, in an biographical film made of his life.
In a short time he learnt and practised a lot to improve on his casting-, flytying-, and fly fishing skills and became fly-casting champion of Holland. He did a lot to improve the casting skills off the Dutch VNV instructors and set in cooperation with the VNV the goals for the VNV casting certification programme.
He travelled a lot to chasing fish with his fly-rod and went from the Bahama’s (bonefish) to Ireland (Salmon) from Austria (colourful Grayling and Trout) to Norway (Polak, Salmon, Grayling and beautiful Trout) from Germany (Trout and Grayling) to Canada (from Chinook to Brook Trout). And every year he doesn’t forget to visit Denmark to catch one of his favourites fish the silvery Sea-trout.
At present he is an EFFA Master Instructor and a member of the EFFA Casting Advisory Board, Chairman of the recently founded Fly-fishing Club Voorne-Putten (VV-VP), chairman of the Dutch EFFA department, member the Dutch Association of Advanced Fly Tiers (D.A.A.FT) but they are not daft at all), Chairman of the fish management commission of the Oostvoornse Lake and a member of the Vision World Team.
Bas gives presentations about entomology, workshops on fly-casting techniques and tactics, gives fly-casting and fly-tying demo’s and lessons at clubs, fly fishing events (Fly Fair, Fly-happening, Visma, Fair for Lure and Fly, Nordic Hunting and Fishing Show etc.), game fairs and supplies information about fly-fishing courses in Norway, Germany and Denmark (sea trout), at fly-fishing clubs in the Netherlands.
He loves to demonstrate and teach fly-casting techniques at National and International Fairs. His biggest smile he gets when one of his students catch his first fish on the fly-rod and see the sparkling in his eyes that “He’s totally hooked” too!!

My approach to fishing is not only based on one type of fly-fishing, I believe ``everything`` can be caught on a fly. Mostly, I am chasing Trout and Sea-trout in a river or on the coastline of southern Sweden or Denmark in the spring, Salmon in the summer and back to Sea-trouthunting in the fall. But a lot of various species such as Cod, Mullet, Pike and many others are being hunted. Recently I’ve become very interested in Saltwater fishing for Bonefish, Tarpon and everything else that can be caught in and around the warmwater-shores. I love to try things that seem to be impossible! The smallest rod for the biggest fish, fish your tube-fly backwards and so on. My fishing is constantly developing and there is always new ideas to be tested. Nothing is impossible until it’s been tested, and tested again!!.At the moment I´m working in the largest tackle shop in Copenhagen, Denmark, called Sport Dres. Here I´m selling fishing equipment and having fly tying and fly-casting courses, when I´m not fishing. –I really do, Live To Fish!!!
Lives together in Stockholm Sweden with his girlfriend and a Golden Retriever, that likes fly fishing as much as he does.
Pike fishing is his favourite but is trying hard to catch a halibut on fly. Take a Big Mama line, cut 70cm from the tip, and use an 11 weight line on a 10 weight Gtfour SW medium rod and you have a deadly combination for pike.
